High Tibial Osteotomy (HTO) is a surgical procedure used to treat early-stage knee arthritis, especially when damage affects only one side of the knee. Instead of replacing the joint, HTO realigns the leg bone (tibia) to shift body weight away from the damaged area, reducing pain and slowing arthritis progression.
It is most suitable for younger, active patients who want to delay knee replacement.
